简介：《悲伤秘密的摇篮曲》讲的是19世纪末，菲律宾被西班牙统治时期的事。革命领袖的遗孀在丛林中寻找他的尸体。与此同时，革命者、统治者、诗人等等轮番上场，从不同的角度反映战争的残酷，以及每个人内心的挣扎和愧疚。电影没有直接反映战场的血腥和狰狞，主要用长镜头拍摄人物对话，以此展开剧情。正因为画面几乎静止，人物喋喋不休，整体难免沉闷和枯燥。高对比度的黑白画面在大银幕上看显得很庄严，光影效果突出，同时丛林中的自然声音都得到保留，背景中的风声、雨声衬着深色的树叶与白色的烟雾格外诗意。影片中还有几段优美的吉他弹唱，也是漫长枯燥的观影过程中难得的调剂。
